Bummer !
Started reading this thread this morning. I thought with 15 pages the new entries would be range report of a finished gun .

I have enjoyed the read with all your pictures. Nice piece of wood also. What thickness was the brass for your thimbles ? It didn’t look like enough material to later file on.

Sorry to disappoint. Hand made things take a while.

Thanks for looking.

I finished inletting the hunters star made out of .040 sheet brass. This is based on the original star on the Albrecht rifle. The fit came out very nice with no gaps. My teacher Jeff Talbert gave me a great tip,. He told me to inlet the top point last. This really helped avoid any gaps on those top points that would show the most.

@Hatchet-Jack Any new updates on the build?
I got the carving drawn on the stock but had to set it down for a while. A lot going on with the family, Dad passed, taking care of Mom etc.
Now I'm building a Chambers PA Fowler for a friend and a small flintlock for my son that I want to finish first before I start carving this gun. I hope to get back to this build in a few months.
Thanks for asking Hawkenhunter50!
