I would think if anybody can get that ball rolling quickly, Dupont can. They started out making black powder, it would be nice to see them do it again.
That company has long moved onto other fields. But, a replica powder can would be neat, except the copyright owner would charge an arm and a leg for it; then some nut would want to sue the DuPont Co. for some imagined harm. Don't see it happening!

DuPont huh?....It will be fun to get black powder in some other colors.... :)

Lmao.
Yeah, I see a lot of that here. Some worse than others. That certainly wasn't the worst of them. I've seen some posts I've just given up on, Chinese instruction manuals translated by a Chinese speaker with 4th grade English as a second language can make more sense.

Proof reading isn't a bad thing folks.
A couple months ago I found myself in a multi page battle that could have been avoided if I'd proof read a topic reply. The while thing was because I thought one thing but wrote something different.

Whatsa "while thing"? 😂

Whole thing!!

I fortunately have access to an out-of-the-way ffl (literally out in the middle of nowhere) that still prices his stock like its 2019.

I have recently been able to pick up several pounds of Goex 3f and 4f, #10 and #11 primers, as well as 209 primers, smokeless powder, etc in this time warp shop and whenever I go in there I can almost pretend like there isn't a shortage.

However, the last time I was in there a few days ago, he was out of #10 primers and had just run out of large pistol primers, so the shortage is trickling down to this backwoods location, and I can no longer pretend I am going back in time when I walk in his doors.

That's sad...

GOEX is for sale, everything else on who is buying, time until production continues, etc is speculation in my opinion.

Hodgdon, and any potential buyers haven't said anything publicly. Until then we won't know for sure.
I emailed Hodgdon and they said GOEX wasn’t profitable so they were shutting it down.

From a DuPont press release 11/2/21:
"Acquisition of Rogers Corporation will expand DuPont's leadership position in advanced materials for high-growth secular end-markets, including electric vehicles, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), 5G telecommunications and clean energy."
Nothing about GOEX.

In this day and age acquiring a BP maker isn’t sexy like the nebulous “clean energy.”
Assuming its a money maker Dupont probably won’t make some huge announcement or do it through some shell corporation. Ain’t 1950 anymore!

Yes, I think Hodgedon will go all in to find a buyer who is interested in continuing the brand and the plant. Financially, that would seem to be the best outcome for Hodgedon. Also for the folks who depend on employment by Goex.

All in all it's a wait and see situation I guess.

Um, you think that Hodgdon is interested in selling the means to compete with their BP substitutes to another company? Their shutting down GOEX means more demand for their other products.

I will remind the Membership that Hodgdon originally wrote there were no plans to sell GOEX, ..., two weeks of bad reactions and folks talking about not using any of Hodgdon's powders in the future, and suddenly, Hodgdon starts talking about the "sale of GOEX' to another company...

;)
