Here's my Mountain Rifle I just refinished, on display at home. I made the stand from a walnut board I had left over from making a cheese press. I think it needs a pistol or bowie knife to finish the look. Care to share how you show off your muzzle stuffers?

While a bowie mounted beneath the forend with the point towards the rifle butt would IMO look nice, your mount will also stand on it's own.

Nice work, nice settings - on all three mountings posted- congrats ! !

While I like the looks of your display. I myself find "out of sight out of mind" safer. Guns of all types are number one in thefts. And thefts are becoming more and more common. There fore none of my guns are on display. That and the fact my wife would not allow them to be displayed in the house. She lets me play with them, build them, and shoot them but I keep them out of sight.

Love it

According to the online 'gurus' it is a CVA 50 cal. Mountain Rifle from the 1980s. The place I bought it from said it was a Kentucky rifle... So even they were confused. :)

Yeah, it's a CVA Mountain Rifle like the one I have, except mine has no patch box due to being a Premier Grade MR (different TG, walnut stock, etc)

I had one just like yours back in the seventies. The only difference is mine was a '.54 cal.. It was a very good rifle but I let a friend talk me out of it. I bought mine for $200.00 and would give a trousand to get it back! LOL
