I have a Mowrey Bicentennial Rifle kit and the front ramrod thimble came off the barrel. It looks to be soldered or braised on. I tried soldering it with a torch and the solder would not even take. This is the last piece of the puzzle; otherwise, the build is complete. Any suggestions?

Successful soldering depends on getting the two surfaces CLEAN! No rust or dirt of any kind around the areas. Heat the parts to be joined together, DON’T just heat where the solder is! Maybe Dave person will see your post and help.
