built this quite awhile back turned a wood mould from bue print for barrel used a steel 4140 tube 3 inch bore (should have used more correct 4.5 but was going for strengthcast steel over that and then flame sprayed in bronze . wheels are made by an aumish man that that is his buisness building wagon wheels that will carry a load cross country .

May be out of the topic area (in the Craftsman area) but real nice, and it took a Craftsman to build that!

Somehow when I read the tittle I am thinking "MOUNTAIN GUN" like maybe a version of the Hawken rifle that had been used and repaired mountain man style... :idunno:

When the pics opened, :shocked2: now that is mtn gun! :wink:

The Krupp is a nice cannon... I know a fellow who has one I crewed on it at a couple of WWI re-enactments... Also know someone with one of the 1903 50mm mountian guns...

now thats the gun ive always wanted 50mm krupp mtn gun ,got an artical out of magazine years back on it , im doing second best and building an exact repo fo the hotchkiss 1.65 mtn gun
