Mutton Tallow

I find mutton tallow works well on antler and bone handled knives. It keeps natural oils in the bon to prevent cracking. I also like mutton tallow at the drill press as it makes a dandy lubricant when drilling holes in metal.

Interesting how we can debate for pages the best tallow/fat to use. While back in the day, you used what you had.

I use unsalted lard. Works just as good when blended with a bee’s wax.
