Back some time ago there was a thread on which is better, Muzzle Blast or Muzzle Loader. Everyone gave their opinion.

I was in a large book store last week and found a copy of Muzzle Loader. I bought it out of curiosity since I get Muzzle Blasts.

The magazine is an eye opener. I found all kinds of gun builders that I did not know existed. Also I found places that I did not know that sold flints, black powder, BP supplies, accessories, places that do lock repair, general repairs, etc. The place is full of new information, at least to me.

I am getting a subscription tomorrow.

Ford or Chevy? Both are good mags. I get muzzle blasts as it comes with my membership in the NMLRA.

I agree with Bob McBride.
They both need our support to continue into the future for others.
Especially, this year.

A few years back I bought a bunch of old muzzle blasts off eBay. Some were old enough they didn’t have color pictures. I subscribed to both for 20 years. Currently I only have muzzleloader as I enjoy the historical articles.

I'm biting my tongue on this one.

Have come to the conclusion I like more print info than glossy photos. I realize an operation the size of NMLRA needs many $$$'s to exist these days. So does another national organization more involved in conservative politics need $$$'s to protect the 2nd Amendment more directly. Had to make an executive decision on where my $$$'s are to be spent. Was a member of NMLRA for almost four decades , sadly decided to stop. Just an old guy reassessing priorities. If our political situation gets more positive in America , might go back to supporting NMLRA. I humbly wish everyone the best. Don't forget....Black Powder Matters....oldwood

I get both as well, and have been a benefactor member of the 2nd amendment group for close to 40 years. I have been disappointed in the latter's performance lately and am considering leaving the organization. It's pretty bad when they send you a thank you note for donating money, and ask for more in the same letter.

Yes! I've subscribed to both for some time now, and they kind of complement each other; a real black powder fan really needs both, and I'm glad to be able to afford the costs; maybe some cannot budget for subscriptions. The history tales and especially Mike Nesbitt's column in Muzzleloader are particularly interesting. There is no "one's better", they each offer something for the shooter. MB is a bit more on the "build" side, ML has lots of History, etc. If you can, get both!

I'm a long time NRA guy, and am disappointed in direction of the org;, they need new blood. The way things are going, muzzleloading may be more important than ever, once "they" outlaw anything and everything! NMLRA only has about 12,000 members; NRA is top-heavy in administration and going broke, frankly. We're in for 'interesting times'!

If you're referring to the NRA, you're right. Needs new direction and new blood. I did send some money to the 2nd Amend. Foundation, and never heard back.

I also get both, and am glad that THE BEVEL BROTHERS CAME BACK. they are just great!!
