has anyone on the list thought of maybe having a mlf camp or get together. i have given it some thought and i have 25 acres where maybe we could get together to shoot a bit or just to palaver some. maybe trade some ideas and get to know one another. my place is in the central lower peninsula of michigan. lets hear some thoughts or ideas on this.

I think it is a great idea..unfortunately...with the price of gas...I sure wouldn't be able to take advantage of it. Your idea does make me think of something else along the same lines however..maybe it might be more possible to do this on a state level as well...or even on a smaller level if folks are interested. All in all..I sure think no matter which is done it could not help but make this forum a lot more meaningful to all. Face to face jawin is allus better than typin somethin on a screen.

I think it's a great idea and a fine invitation that you are making. Maybe the musketman and claude ought to answer up on you're suggestion. I got about 150acres lease in SC that is just busting for some campfire smoke and laughter. Thank you again, Mr. Pieman.

I'll support this, too.

Got enough land to host it here if anyone is interested, but I imagine my corner of the country is too hard for most folks to get to. Gladly show up at one someone else hosts - have motorhome, will travel. Won't mind taking some cash out of pocket to defray the host's expenses.

A single nationwide event would be great but the distances that puts on some people might make it hard. Regional maybe?

You guys must have deleted the e-mail Claude sent out inviting all members to the 4th Annual Muzzleloading Forum Lobster Bake and Alpaca Hunt in Galveston, TX this coming weekend. Our fiscal year ended on August 31st here at Muzzleloading Towers and Claude always takes 15% of the profits and uses it to host our get together.

Last year we went cliff diving and ptarmigan shooting at Santa Cruz. 'Course, we did have a halt when Zonie did that nice 80 ft dive with the torch to start things off, and we never noticed it was low tide . . . Took us half-an hour to dig him out of the muck. And we did have ta patch his hide and 'splain to Roundball that ptarmigan don't generally carry a torch when they fly off a cliff.

Snake-eyes is still addin up the plews, so we ain't certain how much we have in the kitty.

Keep checking your in-box for an update.

Didn't delete my e-mail. I got the truck packed and I am headin out tonight after work. Can't beat them fresh Lobster from the coast. I was lookin up a good tanning place to do the alpaca skin with the wool on. Kinda like a sheep skin, right? Might have to make a slight detour and stop by Dixon's and pick up that nice .45 cal longrifle by Dave Motto because I spect that a .58 cal would be overkill for Alpaca :hmm:. Stumpy, can you send me the directions to Galvaston and do you know of any construction zones to worry about? I don't want to hit any traffic if I can avoid it :haha:. Do you know if there is any room left to pitch my tent? See ya there.

Sorry folks, it's been canceled due to Hurricane Rita, maybe next year...

it seems to be we are getting quite a good response to this idea. next question, winter, spring, summer, or fall? myself i would prefer winter or early spring. what say the masses.

I was only joking!!!! I'm gettin' too old for that kind of weather. Later in the spring when these old bones can put up with the cold ground.
