I bought this TOTW kit from a guy on this website. I wasn't sure I had it in me to put it all together but I'm done and I'm reasonably happy with it. I will admit to having a bit of help on the front and back ends of the build but I did 70% of it myself and I'm proud of that. For what it's worth, I have very little patience and I'm not a "handy" person but I was interested enough in finishing this kit that I kept at it, moved slowly and finished.

It's the only percussion gun that I own but I'll use it on at least one deer and will likely continue to shoot it for fun. If nothing else it will always look nice hanging on the wall. Nice curl in the stock, huh?

Great looking stock. Enjoy the pride of completing it!

That will be the sweetest venison you'll ever have.

Thanks Ruger. I got disgusted at times and wondered if I'd ever finish it but now I'm glad that I started the project.

Looks very nice from here. Love that color. What did you use for stain?

Congratulations! :hatsoff:

You've made a fine looking rifle there and you should be very proud of it and of yourself!

I've seen many people who don't think they are "handy" find that they are "handier" than they thought they were when they are given the chance to find out just how good they really are with a little guidance.

Hope it shoots as good as it looks. :)

Congrats on your first build! It looks as if you did a very good job  . As stated, you should be proud of it and yourself.

Thanks for all the kind comments, it really did work out far better than I had originally anticipated. The stain is LMF honey maple.
