:) my first flint was an old .22 barrel taped to a piece of 2x4 ,uses a flintlock cap gun lock,with a nail for a trigger. Tapped the chamber and screwed in a bolt for a plug. I was 14. The darn thing shot with patched 177 pellets and did very well. until Dad dissappeared it. But I was hooked am now 74. and still building and shooting.Lonesome Bob
 
man that was a long time ago. Mine was a CVA 50 cal Hawken I bought as a kit from a Jamesway store back in 1983. Since then I've redone it 3 time . Blued first . Repaired a broken stock the second time and browned the barrel. Third time I changed it into a 32 cal by inserting a rifled sleeve and added a L&R lock. Now it has a new life as a small game getter. Shoots really well but just a tad heavy. I think I'll keep her...K
