Very very nice!!!! What was your process?

STEP BY STEP photos!

How I go about etching a powder horn:

How To Description:

Make the outside paper pattern to fit the horn.

Then pencil draw the pattern.

Xerox it to make it ink. Cut it out.

Use the pencil to completely black the back of the paper. Scotch taped it onto the horn in small sections because of the bend warping the paper.

Draw on the inked side with a blue pen to see where I had gone effectively transferring the pencil lead from the pattern to the horn. Remove the pattern.
Then etched that small section with a carbide etching pen.

Rubbing the pencil lead into the etches to see the etch.

Etch away the flaws cleaning up the lines adding shading cuts. Sand off the burrs. Cover everything with sharpie.

Wipe away excess sharpie with alcohol coated paper towels. Super fine sandpaper away any sharpie shadow stains on the surface.

Buff shine with super fine steel wool.

Repeat one small section at a time...
