Here are some pictures of the bench I built a couple of months ago in order to start my Tennessee Classic project.
I also had to purchase my tools, as I did not have anything suited to gun building and I am brand new at it.
Thank you,
BillK

Mighty fine looking bench and tool hangers you've built.

Somehow it doesn't look right though.

I mean, where's the chips? Where's the metal filings? Where's the big pile of hammers and tools and chunks of sandpaper and wood dust?

I'm betting that given enough time you'll fix those little oversights. :rotf:

Nice work.

Congratulations on your bench. The only problem I can see is having it in a corner. My first bench was like that and I had to cut a hole in the wall for the long bbled LRs.....Fred

Nice looking setup you have there...

Get that vise mounted and make a mess out of that bench now.

:hmm: Wel-l-l-l I think we all should take a trip and mess up that mighty pu-u-u-urty (CLEAN :barf: ) workbench. The new tools, and clean workbench remind me of my shop which is messier but all the less as equally anal. So good luck and happy building, let's see a picture six months from now. :haha: :hatsoff:

Yeah...sota looks naked....but that will change....and what ever ya do, don't clean it!

my gf complains abou the "mess" that is on my bench and why dont i clean it up. if i clean i cant find the stuff i was working on last and when it is clean its make a cleaner space that might be populated by other stuff that isnt mine. like her stuff.

A clean work bench is a sign of a sick mind.
now were is my work bench? I think it is in the coner over there. :rotf:

I agree with Fred about it being in a corner... other than that, it's a real nice set up.

One more thing..... you're gonna need to mount a vise between those two adjustable uprights.
Nice job.

Mighty nice looking set-up you built. I built my first rifle on a saw horse with a wood working vise attached to it. Sure would have liked to have had your bench! Emery

I can't believe there's someone out there more organized than me! :shocked2:

One word of advise; that last chisel on the right is slightly out of alignment with the others...best straighten it out!

Kidding aside; looks great! Don't listen to these guys, keep it clean! That way if you drop the fly out of your lock we won't see another post titled "Lost fly" or "Need Help! Fly Down!" etc. :v

Good looking bench. It looks a little dark there, do you have plenty of good light overhead? I like several lights overhead so I am not working with shadows.

Here are a couple pictures of the benches in my small shop on one of their cleaner days. I use the overhead rafters to store a lot of tools and stock blanks and both benches have drawers and cabinets for other tools.

You may want to put a couple of coats of poly on it before use. I find that it makes sweeping up chips and filings a bit easier and faster. Get a small matt or rug for the floor too if you do not have it. I think it helps my back to have a bit of soft to stand on.

May you have many productive, enjoyable hours at your new bench.

The mats are a good idea, I have anti fatigue mats in front of both benches in my shop and they sure make a difference.

 I have a great bench also, but have not seen it for years. It's an old "autopsy" table and boy the stories it could tell through DNA. You did an excellent job and need to be proud.

Thanks,
I'm going to "borrow" that picture for a table I need to build in my apartment garage. Hopefully I beat you to it before you get a patent!!! :blah:

Very nice looking work bench.
Good luck with your Tennessee Classic project.
