Hl Guys
Well this is a vent, I got my rifleshoppe pistor Jaeger "kit". Wow what a disapointment. There is work that was not completed and the stock work in my opinion isn't very good. The wait and THE BROKEN PROMISES were and should have been enough to cancel. Nope I was stuborn "O" wells. Lession learned by me... don't order a "FULL KIT" from them at most just the metal and brass parts. The lock and metal parts are great, and as I ordered however the stock... :rotf: 90% enletted (i have done 90% kits) this more like 60% or maybe 70% at a stretch :rotf: The barrel is great but I asked and paid for the sight doves to be done (they weren't). The barrel it's self is awesome. looks good and will finish up great.
Well as for my eight man rifle section they are deciding if they should use another supplier already. Me well I will see what happens. I can do the work that wasn't completed but hey Like I said disapointed(to say it mildly). I will include pics soon.
Well my best regards and warning :rotf:

I would take pictures of the non-dovetails, and at least request a refund by letter or e-mail, or both of the fees charged. It's a small amount but well worth fighten for. Personally I don't like precarves, I feel it stifles creativity in the build, however it reduces the amount of sawdust, ya gotta sweep up :haha: Bill

I know many of you don't like the precarved stocks but in defence of them allow me to say that the new builders could do a lot worse.

IMO The precarves usually are close to the proper size and form. Many leave some extra wood on all of the surfaces but it isn't difficult to remove. Even if some of it is left on the gun, the results still are close enough to the right proportions, at least as far as the average person would know.

As for hogging a stock out of a nice piece of wood is concerned, most beginners could easily end up with something that bearly begins to look like a real rifle should.
Without detailed measured drawings and the tools and knowledge to transfer this information to the wood, many folks would be totally lost, ending up with a half inlayed barrel, the lock and trigger in the wrong place, the drop, wrist, shape, pull, trigger, forend etc looking like it was designed in Tibet. (Nothing against Tibetans but I doubt many of them know much about the form of the American Longrifle.)

Buying a precarved stock from one of the better suppliers can make a very nice custom rifle if the builder takes their time and asks questions.

Hello
I must also include that the rifle shoppe got back to me after I posted and they will refund my cash. That wasn't the point. Like I said the hardware and metal parts are great. It's a few of the other points that peed me. I have a bud who is a gun smith he is going to do a couple of things I am not setup for now(used to be when I lived at my other house reason I wanted these things done in the first place). The kit will look good as I said the hardware is excellent. The stock will hold me a couple more weeks. Pics are coming soon. Thanks for listening..
best regards Loyalist Dawg
