Interesting. How does it shoot? Unfortunately most of your text was covered by the picture.

Reminds me of my first smoker, one of the Spanish Jukar .45 caplocks. Yours looks like it's fitted with a T/C Hawken triggerguard! Any idea if it's original to the gun? Mine shot ridiculously well with a 40gr charge of FFFg under a patched round ball. Squirrels HATED that rifle.

I've had it at the range at 50 yards and 2 shots at a hundred. I shot two three shot clusters one 50 grains the other 60 grains. At 50 yards it shot 4 1/4' high and 2 1/2 ' right with 50 grns. At 60 grns 6 1/2 ' high and 3 1/2" right. At 100 yards 13" high and 15" right. Might be looking for a taller front sight. The clusters at 50 yards measured 1 1/2" outside to out side holes, FFFg Goex. :hmm: I almost forgot, .445 ball with .010 patch and bore butter lube. I have moved the rear sight to the left and am looking for some .440 balls with .015 patch before worrying about the front sight height.

The rifle is all original from what I can tell from other pictures on the internet. The rifle looked unfired when I found it, all indications it was a wall hanger. The nipple had the size 10 cap top but was cone type hole on the bottom. Replaced it with a #11 stainless nipple. I just noticed in my above post my fingers betrayed me. That is all inches in the measurements above.
