The handguns mounted on the wall have been rendered unshootable by removing a crucial part of the action. As far as the rifles, I'm not too worried about a burglar stealing a Carcano or an Arisaka and using it to shoot up a local Kwik Trip. I doubt if they know where to find ammo. I doubt they even know what ammo to load.
A smash and grab won't care about the brand. They'll see two guns through a window or while searching and grab them. I think that disabling them IS the responsible approach. Hiding them is not the solution. I'm not going to hide in my own home. If they smash and grab they're the ones committing the crime. Not me.
