YEE...HAAA all I know is that sure is a purty one! and those are gittin hard to come by nowadays. Also know that those who have them LOVE them!! What caliber is she?????

It looks similar to my 45 cal. made by Numrich Arms. I am in envy of your "pistol grip strap", patch box, and curved butplate. Love it anyway.

part of my underhammer family, really need to add pics of the 48" and heavy barrel 32"

What a UGLY rifle! You should send it to me...I'll send you a nice new in-line rifle....
Yeah, I know your thoughts already,....Not in your dreams.
Actually NICE FIND! You will love it.
You may find nicer rifles, but none will out shoot it. You are ready for any match, anywhere!
You are a very lucky man.
All the best.

Top of the barrel is grooved and back of the receiver is tapped for a peep site. Marked Hopkins & Allen Heritage. Thinking about a peep site. Any suggestions? New at this. I have a Pedersoli Kodiak 72 caliber that I am going to have to put a different front site on. Shoots 10" high at 50 yards with 75 grains of ff. Tried more powder and it shot higher. Imagine that.

I have to agree...

That is one fine looking Underhammer Rifle!!!

I've not heard of Challenger Mfg.--at least as far as making muzzleloaders... hope someone has some info on them. I wouldn't mind one of these rifles for my Christmas present (hint to my wife, if she's looking over my shoulder while I type).

I'm also interested in the available calibers and the price (if that's not being too nosey).

It's a great find for you, and I'm not full of envy. I just want one of my own...

Regards,
WV_Hillbilly

PS Let us know how it shoots for you.

NOT SURE but most of those built by whoever are set at 75ydes or 100, but most 75. Fred :hatsoff:

I cant tell from your pic do you have the org apt front sight or is it a blade? Right load for these is 433 and 015 patch with 70grs 3f for a one hole 3 shoter at 50 yds useing the org peep back and other back sight (if yours has a little screw by the insert) set to the U ) Fred :hatsoff:

MW3273, what else is marked on the rifle? looks just like my heritage with the exception of a fancier patchbox. the middle rifle in the trio is a heritage .45
