This was on the Lodgewood sight. It’s even more pretty than it was online. It feels great in the hand too…the guy that stocked this gun knew his business.

It's been pretty well established that Lewis had 15 of these guns, prototypes, made to take with him on the Corps Of Discovery. Two of the originals have been found, the first being number 15 and in the St Louis area where the Corps auctioned off everything when they returned. Flint locks of course and with a two piece under rib. The later one's which were to come out late in 1803 had solid under ribs. It is really too bad the confederates burned the Harpers Ferry arsenal and those very important records were lost.
 
Wow! That is a beauty! I've always thought the Harper's Ferry was such a simple yet elegant design, I hope someday I can afford to own one.......
