My dad bought a 45 TC Hawken new in the late 70's, around 77 or 78 if my memory is correct. I was in high school and shot it regularly. Dad bought several others and let me have the 45.

I realize there was a factory fire and serial numbers are sketchy. The serial # is 64,89x. Does that number roughly fall in the late 70's?

Our county finally added a black powder whitetail season. I'm dusting off the old 45 for the first two weeks of January.

the t/c hawken started in 1970 with serial #1000 and now they're closin' in on a million so i'd say yer time frame was about right. a good gun whenever it was made. luck to ya in january and have a good'en friend, bubba.

I would say you are in the ballpark. This topic has been discussed on the forum before so you might try a search. Others have tried to collect SNs in order to recreate an approximate timeline, but it is sketchy. With no factory records, that may be the best you can do.

I own a TC Hawken kit gun that was first sold back around 1980 with a serial number of 2374xxK so the gun in question was very likely made quite a bit before then.

I would think thats close in the range,I had one from 71 numbered 2301...it had that awful multi groove barrel so I didnt even shoot it...sold it
