the only problem is a cant decide if i want to brown the barrel or not.... it looks pretty as is ...it just needs some more cleaning .. I bought some dixie gun works browning solution and im waiting for it to arrive...but i just cant decide for certain

Well personally I think I would leave it in white! It really looks good that way. I usually am not a fan of white but it can be done. It will need to be cleaned and oiled more often to keep away the rust. What most folks don't realize whether it is blueing or browning it is a coat of fine rust meant to protect the finish from rusting any further. I like browning with a muzzle loader as I feel it looks more appropriate to the period. Also I don't have to worry to much about fine scratch as they rust right into the color!

I use to carry a .22 on my trapline and the exposure to cold and then bringing it inside in the winter meant work at the end of the day.
I would let it warm to room temp and then stripped it down cleaned and oiled inside and out to beat the rust factor, no matter if it had been shot or not. It was work but worth it!

Thanks for posting more pictures. I think that I would leave it in the white and let a natural patina take over. That or a French Grey to compliment the wood!

Looks awesome!!!Remember though ; it is easier to brown the barrel than to UNbrown it.
I left mine unbrown and I think it looks better that way.

That is one gorgeous rifle. It is too pretty to shoot. I would be afraid that I would scratch or ding it up if I were to shoot it. Sooooo pretty!!! BTW, how does it shoot?

wow- tremendous looking rifle!

by the way, does anyone know how to get drool out from between the parts of my keyboard?

Beautiful. Everything in the picture is beautiful. That's a fine looking pistol, too, and the horn is very nicely done. You have taken good advantage of a golden opportunity. Well done.
