Refined by Gastinne Rennete Paris about 1850.
For the coat of arms on the Case i`m looking for answers.

I have had this for 2 days.
I`m going shooting whith it on Wednesday.

Another beautiful pair of pistols. I have a question though. Would these be considered dueling pistols? If not, what about them says they aren’t?

Dueling Pistols were my first thought, I’d love to hang on to one of them for a shooting session.

Interesting how the lock molding interacts with the lock plates. some fine craftmanship there. nice pistols congrats. Also noticed they are not sighted, the en-cased loading rod to me suggests duelers along with them being numbered 1&2, As to the lock plate configuration was just thinking perhaps made that way in case one shooter was a left-handed shooter, the off set in the plate could allow a high thumb grip, just thinking.

They also included a round mallet with a stout-looking loading rod.
In a matter of honor, load that pistol, whatever it takes!
In the case, what is the tool with the black handle, between the lower pistol and the bullet mold?

These are the last Pistols where you don`t need a WBK. But for gunpowder i need a license.

I believe target pistols, bacause of the rifled barrel.
Rifled barrels were forbidden for dueling pistols.

I am originally from Murnau, near Garmisch Partenkirchen.
