Outstanding!! 4 targets??I did fair shooting carbine on Saturday. Sunday's musket match was much better. I actually hit 4 targets during one event. It was one of my better days!
I'm impressed....!!

IIRC, Bess is approved for smoothboreMaybe they will start a "John Burns at Gettysburg" or "Andersonville Prison Guards" competition to allow Flintlocks into the N-NSA!

That’s just ridiculous.Individual approval, had to get an SAC card for my Bess. See post #20. The required procedure of loading with a frizzen stall and having to prime after the ball was rammed down but using the same cartridge to prime with after loading which required guessing as to how much powder one held back for that and figuring out what to do with the cartridge while going through the rest of the procedure wasn't very encouraging.
Sounds like more hoops than I'm willing to jump through. But if folks enjoy it I think it's great. I'll just watch the videos.Individual approval, had to get an SAC card for my Bess. See post #20. WøW...thanks for doing that.I just posted a link to the video on the N-SSA forum.
I really enjoyed this. I’ll have to check out our local NSSA shoot this year.
Near Saratoga, NY. I know there’s a meet at OSMLC.Where are you located?
WOW....thanks for that testimony!Thanks for the trip down memory lane. I grew up and lived in Pa. about 10 miles from Gettysburg. I joined the N-SSA with the help of the man that lived next door to our home. (I was not 15 yrs. old yet) 1st Maine Hvy Artillery changed there by laws and he sponsored me. also, he build me a 1861 Springfield from all original parts to include a perfect lock that was subcontracted by Savage arms and installed a Yeck Barrel for competition. This is a 2-band model (Cadet rifle) because of my small build Shot 8-man teams all over the east coast. Have several medals and trophies to include a 2nd place at the Spring Nationals. Got married and had a son money was tight stopped shooting at age of 24. Still have my uniform and leathers plus the gun. All the guys that mentored me are gone now (I'm 64). Most likely competition shooting keep me out of trouble. It was very time consuming because I had to mold all the bullets for 2 other shooters plus myself in exchange for them loading all my rounds for practice and shooting events. We shot every weekend all year long. Also, we did hang out with some of the guys from 2nd Maryland Hvy. Artillery. I may have had my first few drinks of Moon Shine at those weekend evenings.. P.S. never thought about taking a firearm to school because I was picked on by a Bully and I was a skinny Red-haired boy...Just saying..
@dave951
My bride and I attended the North South Skirmish Association's annual Spring Shoot in Virginia last weekend.
We kept the cameras rolling practically ALL weekend trying to catch all the fun going on!
I didn't pull the trigger on a gun at all last weekend & LOVED every minute of this event!
Enjoy:
