I always appreciate hearing when other folks name their rifles. Whether they be a production piece or a kit that required a little more love and affection to build, I feel that it gives them unique character and reveals some personality.

So what did YOU name your rifle (or other smoothie or fowling piece)?

one of my favorite 50's is a TC Hawkenish with a Green Mountain barrel. I just put a TC vernier tang sight on it with matching globe front. with the everyday open sights this gun will shoot 1 1/2 inch group at fifty yards despite me steering it. it also has always gone bang whenever i pulled the trigger. i had a name in mind for it. today it had 4 klatches and 4 flash in the pans. i applied all the standard remedies and it just played hard to get.
by the time i had frost bite trying to get that sow to fire, sow was the kindest thing i had named it. earned me a time out from the boss.
i never noticed this corner of the living room needed painting before!

Frog Shooter, Froggy for short is my TFC
Ike, my smooth rifle worked off the plans of an Issac Hines
I don’t have a name for my SMR, but getting a dog lock, was thinking Fido would be a good name
When I get mine to shoot straight, then I’ll name them. Has to be their fault.

I've never really got that concept of naming inanimate things like ones vehicle, gun, musical instrument, or whatever, so, obviously, I've never done it. My guns, I refer to them by their caliber or brand/model name.

I am terrible at remembering names. I have too many guns for that. I do plan on making a rifle named socks because I am going to try and make it as mismatched as possible.
