As with everything in modern life, some of us need to work out schedules a year or more in advance. Why does it seem the dates and locations of future rondys seem to be kept such a secret. The NLHF site still lists two of the rondy's for June and July past. Are the new dates and locations not known? I can understand if there is a problem finding a site, but sometimes this information is known almost two years out. They are just hurting attendance by not getting this out there. Why keep it a secret?

I used to get a lot of information from the "Smoke and Fire News" newspaper. The paper has now gone quarterly and the sections that list events have been much smaller. I hope that rendezvous organizers can start to get their notices in by deadline.

The current issue has several articles of rendezvous with pretty good pictures. I even recognize some of the participants in the Fort de Chartres photos of the June Rendezvous.

Lately I find that I have to look for event flyers at the rendezvous and trade fairs I attend. In some cases I have to look up members of clubs that have rendezvous and ask when their rendezvous will be scheduled . I used to keep an excel spread sheet with known events in my area, Missouri and Illinois, to help with my planning as event tend to happen on the same weekend of the month each year.

Google searches turn up Facebook pages with events. While the events may not be secret, its still requires some work to find out when they are happening.

We have a one local event each year .

It doesn't get a lot of publicity, if it did I think it would draw a larger crowd.

I believe if organizers of events would advertise more maybe more Folks would join the fire.

I agree. I have not been to rendezvous in 4 years because I just can not find any closer than a 16 hr Drive.

I hope this coming vous season will be better!

I was actually referring to the NLHF rendezvous like the Eastern, North Eastern, Old Northwest etc. Many years ago, I attended the now defunct High Plains because it was something I found out about 18 months in advance. At the Eastern they vote on the booshway for the Eastern 2 years in advance. But,for instance at the NLHF web site, the next years rendezvous won't be posted until around December, which leaves only 6 months notice for some. The date and location of next year's has been known for almost a year, but the news is just kept a secret. IMO, this information should be out there as soon as it is known and before the previous year's rendezvous even starts.

Claude thanks for the site, but knowing the events where those folks will be in 2016, does little good for anyone. See what I mean?

There is a gentleman in Wichita Kansas who has a site called Talking Bear that lists a many rendezvous etc. located primarily in the center of the country, but some are located in other states. Just google talking bear and it will pop up.
