Looking at possibly picking this na enfield up. As you can see in the pics there is an inlaid plaque (was an award from an employer) I don’t know how deep it is. Think I can sand the stock down? Any other ideas? Rifle is in good shape otherwise.

If it didn't have the plaque it would look just like my Navy Arms musketoon.
Personally, there is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY I would sand down the stock just to remove the plaque.

I'd clean the barrel of oil/packing grease and shoot it.
Mine shoots 3 MOA with a .578 RCBS 500gr minie and 60grs fffg.

You use a Fine Bead up to 50 yards, full bead past that.

I wouldn't, about all I would do is maybe modify the plaque or replace it with one of my own. First I would check to make sure it wasn't loaded then clean it up and shoot it for a while. Then decide what to do with the plaque if it bothered me, might just end up as part of the guns history.
Good ideas. He’s willing to sell for $225 shipped. This a fair price?
That is a very good price IMHO
