Ghost,
I went into this year's NEPR with the vision of making it a fun event for everyone. I think I accomplished that goal (with lot's of help from my friends!!!).
I don't think I could replicate the success anywhere else, but maybe you or someone else could. Somehow or another the politics stayed either out of our camp this year or at least on the edges and people went back to enjoying and helping each other out.
I'm suggesting to any Rondy organization to set priorities and take care of them first, such as "have fun", "get a variety of events", "listen to the participants", "keep it simple". If we re-learn to make our events our priority they'll begin to work again. The NRLHF has some resources to us, but a successful event still comes down to the people attending, because they are the only ones who really care! They need to be willing to help and cooperate because the camp will "sour" and folks will stop coming.
Anyhow, you folks could find a group of people (can't be done alone) out there to put the fun back into your event. If you build it they will come!!!!
Good luck.
Jester.
