Hi all,
Does any forum member know of a gunsmith that can fix a percussion single shot pistol? The work would involve heating up the hammer and bending it slightly to correctly center it over a nipple and possibly changing the hammer spring for more striking force. I have no gunsmith locally that will work with BP firearms nor do I have the tools and experience for such a job. A gunsmith that will accept mailed firearm work in the U.S. only please. Name, address, email or phone contact information would be great.

If it's not much adjustment you can put in padded vice and bump it with a mallet. I put a piece of wood on side hammer is to be moved for support.

There is a member right here on TMF that goes by the name 45D. He is a great gunsmith. You could PM him if you are still in need of a gunsmith. :thumb:
