hey all
I found a T/C Hawkin 45 cal with a looong T/C barrel. It is percussion, with a peep sight. The barrel is factory and it looks like it never was shot. 1:66 twist
Questions:
1) How much is it worth
2) not being a 45 cal fan how does the 45 perform
3) Is this a custom fox ridge gun
4) what can all of you tell me

I havw a renegade I built and it is a tack driver in 54 cal and a deer getter but never had use for a 45 cal. I dont know if it is a 1 or 15/16 wide barrel.

How long is long? If you can find a tape measure or a ruler, try to measure the barrel octagon size and it's length.

I don't think I ever heard of TC making a factory barrel with a 1:66 twist. Now that I've said that, someone is bound to correct me, but I am only aware of a 1:48 twist barrel on a TC Hawken.

If the barrel is a TC 1:66" barrel, it's 15/16"...TC's standard barrels are 1:48" twist, and their round ball barrels are 1:66" twist...and it will be stamped on the right side of the barrel inside what looks like a flag or banner design.

.45 & .50 cal use 15/16" barrels
.54 & .58 cal use the 1" barrels

TC's .45cals are excellent rifles...I have a few...have taken several deer with the .45cal round ball and maxi-hunter.

TC's Fox Ridge sort of throws around the "custom shop" mentality but it really only applies to the Contender series of firearms, not muzzleloaders.

The .45 Hawken you're referring to is the normal Hawken stock, with the round ball barrels which happen to come out of the Fox Ridge side of TC...but they are routine production, nothing 'custom' about them as such.

If it's clean, jump on it...TC quit making the .45cal a few years ago...if you decide not to get it...please send me the contact info...::

Hey roundball
the price tag is 175 us dollars and I dont know if it is 1 or 15/16 but the barrel is long and the stock is standard except the sthock has a cheek piece. it also looks as never been fired because the nipple is new and the snail is not tarnished by the cap at all. The barrel is longer than normal and definantly longer than my t/c renegade.

Buy all you can at that price...if you don't like it, I'll buy it from you.

Have A 45 and love it for deer hunting and just shooting. If you decide to pass send ME the contact information.

factory 1 in 66's are few and far between but they were a tc standard barrel i have 1 on my pa hunter flint, not as big into perc's but they are on some guns

I picked up a T/C Hawken .45 earlier this year. What an excellent shooting caliber. My first .45.

Love it!

I think he meant just the barrel, not the whole gun. But still a good deal.

Right, just the barrel...but it's like new and with them out of production, $55 instead of $185 (if they even still made them) is outstanding...
