I've been thinking of building a round ball rifle in .54 cal. I'd like an underhammer since having the small hole in barrel no where near my eye seems like a really great idea.

Are there any reasonably priced kits for this or do I have to roll my own?

Suggestions are very welcome.

Thanks,

Clutch

The H@A kits are all dried up. You might contact FW as I think he has a few left. They will probably need some metal work. Good guns though and worth the effort.

Also check the gun auctions as I've seen complete guns come up on a regular basis. The go fast though.

Please roll your own. It's more fun and you can say I made that

That might be what I do. Any suggestions on a few good places to look to for parts?

Yes, check out Muzzloaders Builders Supply, click here Type underhammer in the search box for the action in kit form for $60 bucks. I'd call a get her catalog, it's well worth the money, a lot of good info in it. Bill

Thanks for the tip. The website seems a bit messed up on pricing but it is a good start. I'll order me a catalog right now.

I ordered me the underhammer action a couple of days ago from them. It is on back order but they should be getting it in this week. Nice folks to deal with so far. Once I get everything I'll post a critique.
