I saw your posting regarding your building a Hawken. I just purchased a Pennsylvania Carbine in 50 caliber, a Pedersoli gun. It is my first muzzle loader and kit. Any tips on finishing the kit? I have a full woodworking shop and am pretty good in that area.

This was my first so I don't have a lot of experience. The one thing I can say is don't get too excited and let excitement of finishing and wanting to shoot the gun ruin this for you. Make sure you take your time and plan to spend hours on it. Make sure the stock is filed and everything is perfect because once you stain and finish you see all your imperfections. You can always go back and sand somemore but is a big pain and I will have to do that myself unfortunately.
