Hi,
However, the rifle in the photo below is a tack driver out to 120 yards and has not had a single misfire or hang fire in over 600 rounds.

That pic must have been before the 600 shots!

I don't see any angled or sloped vent in this guns future. It will be installed just like any other liner but the vent profile alone will be shaped differently.
Turned and threaded the new vent liner tonight made of A-2 tool steel left annealed which is actually still fairly hard and tough. Drilled a .059 hole 7/16s deep in it that will reveal when it is tapped into the barrel wall and dressed flush. The White Lightning is on the left for comparisons sake. The thread is 1-4 x28 as I did not have a 1/4 x32 die and did not want to take the time to lathe thread it.

I built this rifle from the Track plans using a GM 13/16" barrel. I shortened the breech and plug to line fence up with the back of the breech and put the liner slightly in front of the breech plug. I ordered this precarve with no lock inletting.

If I could give any recommendation on ordering a precarve it would be to NOT let them inlet the lock mortise or internals. I would wait for another precarve from their supplier before I would go with a inletted lock precarve after my last experience.

How is this for being off as far as a lock inlet goes, a real mess I haven't straightened out completely yet.

Nice Job on the rifle Eric! :thumb:

I forgot to mention way back and should have as it may be too late; You want a late ketland (english) lock on a Tn rifle instead of a deluxe siler (germanic). There are originals out there with germanic locks but most have english locks.

The kit from TOTW gave the option of two locks that fit, with the Deluxe advertised as the better quality one. I guess we'll see when I get the stock if it will work or not. I was impressed with the double bridle and quality fit and finish of the interior of the Deluxe, especially the tightness and smoothness of the tumbler/ lock plate bearing.
