Wait for the movie? Hell, I want to grab my hawk and my flinter and go to the rescue. Last of the Mohicans was based on a novel; this appears to be based on an actual abduction - of which there were countless hundreds, if not thousands. Some ended well, others not so. Captain Samuel Brady led his Rangers out of Fort Pitt to rescue many, and punish the abductors. Assemble!

They have a Face Book page for the movie.
My guess is an independant movie would have limited theater release before going to DVD.

We can hope it comes to theaters, but sometimes they go straight to DVD. For a nomination for an Academy Award, there is a "shown in theaters" requirement of some sort. They may have a "shot" at a costume nomination at least..., so it's a good bet they will release to theaters..., but might only be in NY and LA. :( There is a British spoof about a Viking living historian called Faintheart was released in 2008. I saw trailers in the theaters and wanted to see it on screen, but it never came to town. Looked like a hoot! I will be asking for it for Christmas. I think the problem was that many of the jokes were "inside" to the living history community. :haha: Ah well...

NOW if I win a really big PowerBall jackpot, I am going to make a movie about some folks on a Trek in the Great Smokies, who actually encounter some serious badguys with modern guns, and the trekkers have to deal with the situation with flinters..., hey it's Hollywood so anything can happen..., it's not like I'm suggesting making Predator V and setting it in the primevil woods of Poland or Russia...., OH WAIT that could be good too.... :applause:

Kind of a buckskinner's "Deliverance" movie?

Will there be banjo music?

(I remember the craze that that Dueling Banjo's started)

Costumes look great. Plus it's everybody's favorite time period and subject matter mine included. I have a feeling the acting is going to be pitifully bad based on that brief clip. The underlying religious message of the movie may detract somewhat if its an attempt at evangelism instead of a depiction of the deep faith of the frontier settlers. Oh well i guess hollywood and mainstream audiences aren't ready for a movie about colonial America, at least someone is trying. I'll watch it.

It looks great at least in the trailer. The one native american warrior looks even better than We Studi in LOTM. I hope the trailer has not all of the good scenes in it and the rest is so,so.
Maybe this is the pre-quel to "That Dark and Bloody River- The Ohio River Chronicles". This could make a really cool TV series like one of the korean historical dramas. Once a week about 1 hour for about 1 year.
With the 7 million budget, there is definetely no money for big stars in it. But that is not necessarily a bad thing. I hope they hired a good historic consultant. But it looks good so far. I surely hope so. There was hardly anything in the movies worth going in the last few years.

Better a story worth telling and some creativity than an over payed big named star with and excessive "blowing things up" budget.
The weapons looked right and new faces can be more convincing in their rolls.

Sorry but i dont think my gggg grandma looked that hot on the frontier. Just sayin. Movie looks good and right where my family was near the whitehall massacres. Cant wait to see it

I would watch that for sure!

Trailer looks great!! Hopefully, the movie is just as good. I'll pay eight bucks (or more) to see it in the theater.

Looks good, but it has one of my pet peeves. The teeth of the actors/actresses are too perfect. Some are day glow white - they would not likely have been... Other than that, it looks good!

:rotf: :rotf: Man I thought I was picky when it came to historical accuracy.
