That's a gorgeous piece of wood they found for you. Overall, the rifle has a very substantial look..
"meaty" if you will. Perfectly appropriate for a 62 caliber "punkin' chunker". That rifle would be right at home laid over a saddle as you make your way along the Platte river, headin' for the High Lonesome and I dare say you'll be ready for about anything you might run into up there. ;)

Those cottontails don't stand a chance with that one! What a beast!
Very, very nice. A beautiful work of art.
Just what are you going to hunt with it? Seems with those specs it is a purpose built piece.
(I'm green eyed jealous)

Enjoy the rifle! It appears to have been well worth the wait. I know the feeling of what it is when you first get it. My first was a flintlock .54 from Tip Curtis. Happy shooting!!

My son on law and his friend spent a week in Co on a hunt and received goose eggs. First time in a few yrs that they struck out. He did bag a couple of nice ones in

Pa where he lives. He has a Deer farm so he's pretty particular as to what he takes. Here's his big boy

that's a beautiful gun! I just got through shooting and cleaning my 62 jaeger. it has a Colerain swamped barrel, she likes 70-80gr. of ol eynsford goex .18 pillow ticking and a combo of dried ballistol and spit on the patch. at 50yds off the bench when I do my part it shoots one large hole!,,,,,,,,,,,

I’m planning an elk hunt, DIY Colorado, anyone want to go! however PA whitetails and Black Bears are on the Menu as well!!!!
Was planning on doing that this year. Had everything ready for a period correct hunt then learned i needed to draw a tag. Problem is no preference points no chance for a tag. Have one preference point now but ended up taking the recurve and getting an over the counter archery tag. Another tens years crom now ill get that period correct hunt.. lol
