Hello all,
I'm new here, found a lock gun shop who knew a gunsmith who did a restoration and test fire on the old muzzleloader my grandfather gave me years ago. Now I'm gathering supplies to be able to shoot it myself..

Welcome, Welcome and Welcome.....
There are a load of Folks here that will help you on your way.

What a great gift from your Grandfather. You will have memories for the rest of your life for that.

Cheers, DonK

Thanks. I wish I knew more about it but I was 17 or 18 back in 1990 or 91 when he gave it to me so I don't recall much from back then. Looks to be a .32 caliber (mic'ed at .33 - .34) which I'm finding a lot of stores have stuff for .45,.50, and .54 caliber modern ones so I've had to hunt for stuff.

Eugene,
First off welcome to the MLF,great to have
another Buckeye joining in! What part of Columbus
are you located.I am in Reynoldsburg on the east side. Lived in Franklin County all but 7years
of my 66.
Again Welcome
I am snake-eyes

I used to live between Whitehall and Bexely, moved up by Polaris 4 years ago.
Any places around sell muzzzleloading supplies, even Cabela's has the newer 50 caliber stuff, having to order online for my old .32

I guess I'm getting OT for the introductions forum, I'll have to go post in the proper spot.

Welcome fellow Buckeye! :hatsoff: Your Grandfather has given you a beautiful gift.

Members of this community have a wealth of knowledge and cannot wait to share it...just post your question.

I live up north in Mentor, on the shores of Lake Erie.

Howdy Eugene. I'm in Canal Winchester. Not many outlets here in Central Ohio for black powder since Golden Age closed up. If you enjoy shooting that original Mark Herman may get ahold of you as his group puts on an original gun shoot once a year. Welcome.

LOL well the grin on your face when you turned around is all that matters at this point, Welcome to the forum

I haven't been up to that one yet, we've been to Alum Creek, Delaware, Mohican and Malabar, Deer Creek and Ceaser Creek.

I'm trying to find where to get just a little bit of plain old black powder just to make the big cloud of smoke a couple times, all I've found to far is the newer substitutes.

Welcome to the Forums!! Great group of people here! That's a fantastic looking smoke pole ya got!! Enjoy!!
