My dad was a lifelong muzzleloader, here in Michigan, as kids it was Greenfield village, Beaverton with the big teepee, Friendship, IN. Etc etc. I now have his muzzleloaders, and joined the forum to maybe get an idea of what I have. He always talked about them, but unfortunately didn't write down the specifics. Whether it was something he made, or bought, caliber, how to care for them etc etc. so, here I am, just browsing posts, getting educated.

Welcome!

Check out the Michigan State Muzzleloading Association on Facebook. There may be a few in there that could assist locally. Heck, some of them may have met your father assuming he has been involved in the past 40 years.

I'll do that, thank you! Even though he moved to NC, he still came up for Michigan shoots, and to the Nationals at friendship. He was a pretty solid fixture for many years.

Welcome from SE Michigan. I still fondly remember the Muzzleloaders Festival at Greenfield Village. Especially the rolling volley of about a hundred re-enactors lined up with Civil War and Revolutionary War muskets and rifles. Rolling thunder and a cloud of smoke covering the entire field. Get yourself to the Kalamazoo Show this March. Worth the trip even if you have all you need.
