It helps retain one's body parts to load the ball/bullet full down on the gunpowder.

Shooting any gun with a large gap between powder and bullet can cause an amazing pressure peak right at the bullet. Unpredictable, but when it happens, disassembles gun. At least.

That is great, I love meeting other 4-H folks! I hope your class went well. We are struggling a little bit to make our SS classes go with our COVID guidelines, but I hope to have something soon. Archery is up and running, but a lot of my firearms instructors don’t want to lead classes/clubs for a variety of reasons.
Who is your staff educator over there, I can’t remember...
Yes fortunately the classes can be outside for now. Not sure what will happen when the snow starts flying.

Hi Everyone! I’m new to the forum and muzzleloading from upstate New York. I am a 4-H educator and am certified to teach youth in many Shooting Sports disciplines, including muzzleloader. However, outside of instructor training I have little experience with ML.
One of my volunteers is really trying to bring me into the fold, and has loaned me a TC Renegade and accessories to practice with and deer hunt this year. I also bow hunt and gun hunt. He is a great teacher, and I’m looking forward to learning from him, as well as folks in the forum.
Welcome! I am a fellow Upstater too, and also new to the forum. Gobs of info to be had here.
