I have always wanted to build a flintlock rifle. I just found a good deal at Midway, and the kit should be here Monday. Too bad I'm still a year away from retirement. It would be a great retirement project. Don't think I'll wait that long, though. Hope to start the build soon. Hopefully, I'll be able to find some good info and help from folks here.

It's a Traditions Frontier Flintlock. I think I'm going to try Laurel Mountain Barrel Brown and Degreaser to brown the barrel. I'll be checking in on the other forums for advice and updates.

You're fortunate to have a couple of clubs and good ranges that cater to muzzleloading on the Space Coast. There are some fellas on here who belong to the Port Malabar Rifle and Pistol Club. When the weather cools, I hope to visit with them soon.

The Titusville Rifle and Pistol Club is really nice as well. I've taken my kids there a few times and they were friendly to us with our muzzleloaders.
