Hi all! I’m glad I found this place, what a gold mine of useful info! I got into muzzleloading when I was 14 years old, almost 40 years ago. I have always hunted the special seasons for deer, mostly using various inlines, but recently I have been taking a big interest in traditional black powder shooting. I’m looking forward to all you guys have to offer. Thanks, Bill
Allegany County, Wellsville, NY....shoot safe.

Welcome by golly from a former New Yorker as well. I grew up in Elmira, NY and really do miss the summers and fall.....definitely not the winters though. It's a beautiful area and although Elmira is a small city of about 30,000 my mother in laws house frequently have deer visit and a few years ago a black bear came walking thru her back yard. Your area is really beautiful and I traveled there many years ago. My home I grew up in was just 8 miles from Pennsylvania and I used to ride my bicycle into PA on dirt roads there. My wife's best friend there husband leases 130 acres in PA to deer hunt. I do miss NY a lot but, the ole saying you don't have to shovel sunshine in Arizona still is true....but in July I'll change my mind. It's perfect weather here now for black powder and I can't wait to take my Bess out and shoot her again. I just got it a few weeks ago and it works great. Again welcome and I'm new to this forum as well!

Welcome from Oneonta on the western edges of the Catskills.
You must be near Alex Bay. Spent time there every summer through the 70's
Beautiful country up there except during the winter.
