Hello to all. Been looking through the site for a few days now and it is an excellant one. I've been a shooting nut for years and have just got into the smoke poles. I shoot a cva inline now but I would like to get into the traditional guns. I hunt just about everything with fur or feathers. I live in central KY. I'm thinking about a Lyman Plains rifle to start with and would also like to get into building a rifle. Probably should make that rifles I'm not sure I can stop at one.

Tracker: Welcome to the camp. Lots to do and see here so have fun.
As you have found out, black powder is addictive. Once your hooked, there's no turning back.
If you think shooting blackpowder is fun, just wait until you've built a rifle or pistol and shot it. Nothing makes it more personal.
Don't forget to post new subjects, items and questions. :)
Also, feel free to jump into any subject with your comments. We all learn from each other. :)

Again, Welcome!

Hey Tracker,

Sounds like the bug has already bit you and a Lyman GPR kit might be a good start before jumping into an ambitious project like some of the artisans here like to create. Hope you find our forum entertaining and informative

Welcome Tracker:

So you want to get into the traditional guns, eh?

As Darwin would say, it's the next logical step, or was that Mr. Spock???

I get them mixed up sometimes, Darwin's the one with the pointy ears, right?
