just picked up my first jackie brown 36 inch barrel .62/20ga gun fits me perfectly . really an awsome rifle-think i'll try to break it in tomorrow with a little dove shooting. thanks to rebel for turning me onto this gunmaker.

If yours shoots as good as mine i think you will really like it. Mine fits me like it was made for me. Good luck on the doves.

Fishindoc, You say you picked up your "first jackie brown 36 inch barrel .62/20ga gun." Do you expect to get more of them? Le Grand

this thing fits like a glove- and my 10 year old son won't keep his hands off mine so maybe yes

You better go pattern it first, otherwise you're liable to be very disapointed with your hunt.

Agreed, few people would think of taking a rifle hunting without first working up loads and, at least, checking the sights. With shotguns, folks just tend to assume it will shoot where it's pointed and pattern according to its' marked choke. To get it all together with a smoothbore probably takes more time and experimentation than working up a rifle load. Smoothbores are quirky. They are like a rifle only to the extent that only by shooting on paper can one know what to expect in the field.

We need photos so we can make sure it is shootable before you shoot it! :winking: :haha:

Just kidding...but some photos in the VERY near future would be a treat!

Have fun with your new smoothie!

Take care

It is likely to hit quite a bit lower than you are expecting it to. My JB does.

Was this a newly built gun?

How long was the turn around?

i called jackie and told him i was looking for a shorter barrel gun and he emailed me a photo of one he had already made. workmanship excellent the gun just keeps growing on me by the minute= did some patterning today - followed the article by Mr Spencer. used 60gr fffg with 1 1/4 oz no 8.5 shot. actually cut open trap loads for the shot. over powder-cushions shot - overshot wad. at 75 feet was making really nice pattern. walked into the field and knocked down six doves. joe

ps they tasted really good after a long summer of tuna steaks.-I'm gonna call Mr Baker tomorrow and let him know how highly i think of his gun

I'm assuming you mean Mr. Brown?

I got my Jackie Brown canoe gun the same way you got your gun. I called to ask about one and he had, already made, the exact gun I was calling about. I had it in my hands within a week of the call.

yeah it was pretty amazing- i asked how much it was and said does that include the shipping. Mr. B said well i guess on this one it does . i said deal done. I've always wanted a flinter since i was a young boy -never got one- bought a cva kentucky two months ago loved it- shopped around was gonna do the chambers thing- found Mr B - I can honestly say why i waited to the age of 43 is way beyond me .
