You know I think I would like to see Anson Mount of Hell on Wheels fame play the lead. Perhaps Sam Elliot or Tom Selleck as Bear Claw and well I'm not sure about Del Gue. Sad think is I couldn't tell you who most of the young actors are these days. I think todays actors for the most part are cut from a different cloth than those of the John Wayne era.

I agree, Anson Mount would be perfect in this roll. Or maybe Gerard Butler. I think either one of them could carry off the appearance and toughness of a mountain man.

I had a hard time believing DeCrappyhole in Gangs of New York. He's jut not very manly. LOL

Now, Daniel Day Lewis might be a good mountain man type too. I thought he did well in Last of the Mohicans.

I like Daniel Day Lewis. He does a wonderful job of getting into character in every movie that I've seen him it. Good choice.

My source on the set ( a female..) says that Leonardo has gained some weight, is working out regularly and is "ripped", has grown long hair and a shaggy beard just for this role. Manly, hmm.

I for one am looking forward to the movie.

The Revenant

film will star Leonardo DiCaprio as Hugh Glass,

I read this on another forum a while back and was very disappointed to see who the "star" was. I read the book a while back. It was alright. Hopefully DiCaprio doesn't try to blame Hugh for global warming. :haha:

I looked online for the book "THE REVENANT" and was shocked that it was selling for around $125.00!! on Amazon. Recently my lovely young bride was in a second hand book store and asked offhand if they had a copy. Yup, only $6.50. Lucky break. I will read it when I finish the two books I am currently reading.

Sister Mary Nasty!!!! I been in about three or four other topics but nobody gets as passionate as when talking about movies...

If all this is true, hopefully Leonardo Divincio will try to get into the role the way Daniel Day did. ANY historical movie comes out I'd advise watching it.

You go see John Wayne True Grit for the scenery and for John Wayne.

You go see Jef Bridges True Grit because it is truer to the book and terrain and things like that.

Besides....both of them have their share of great lines and scenes...

"..The LOWER Lip?? What was you aiming at??"

"His UPPER Lip!!!"

OR

"Does anyone need Med-ee-cul aTTENtion?"

MY personal demon is to stay away from anything on film that comes from Italy or Spain although the food beats the band

SO, here's my character list for this upcoming movie...

Leonardo is obviously Hugh Glass

Wolowitz, Dr. Cooper and DR. Hofsteder are the three mountian men who run away screaming like girls when the bear attacks

Tina Fey is Sacajewea even though she doesn't belong in the movie

Howie Mandell is The President. That's because they won't remake the movie the same way and will try to add some dumb social or political message.

Mickey Rourke is the Booshway who leads the trip

The Green Bay Packers play the indians. ( I tried to get the Steelers, but Coach Tomlin isn't even answering my calls about managing the salary cap)

Yup. I'd watch it anyway...

Looks like it going to be intense. Four critics on U-tube seem to think so too...

If there had ever been a good "Mountain Man" movie I'd be half interested...

Not buyin' it.

Your just never going to fit in if you cant sprinkle your speech with quotes from "The Big Sky", "Jeremiah Johnson" and of course "The Mountain Men"

The fact that even with their faults, the movies do not resonate with you, it tells alot about a person......
