Just showing off the new possibles bag I just finished making. Not going for historical accuracy, just tried designing something that would specifically help make this next dove and quail season a little bit easier. Kit still needs a few things but I'm stoked on how it's turning out.

Looks awesome man, big fan of the size too! I just built my first one, on pretty similar principles honestly- mines buckskin and definitely not as pretty as yours, meant to be more of a bullet bag/ Fannie pack than anything period correct

Nice stitching. What weight leather is that?

Mike
It's about 4-5 oz leather. A neat trick I picked up a while ago was to impregnate the leather with Vaseline. This really helps soften up the leather and give it more of a garment leather look and feel on thicker pieces like this. After staining, I'll just work about a tablespoon worth of Vaseline into each individual piece for approximately 15-20 minutes.
