Just recieved my new rifle kit from Jack garner this afternoon, well I'm impressed with the stock was figuaring on a real plane jane piece of wood , buy the little lady said look at the curl in that thing, had to plase some light on it and holy mother cow she is purdy hope I don't lose any of it during the clean up process, well it's off to the back yard shop to get things going. bb75

its an early Virginia,.54 L&R queen ann ,.36" barrel from gm Their barrels seem to be real nice ,havent bought one in the white for some time just been useing smoothies for 15 years and kind of surprised by the crown too, after looking iver the net and my huble catologs I settled on this one from Jack Garner, what really made me excited was the stock, was sort of expecting a plane piece of maple what I got was far from plane,this thing is NOT swamped, Because I did not want it so , as for being Pc I don't really care for it its for hunting and shooting.when I get the chance I'll see if I can put a few pictures on the site of progress, oh and by the way the price of this thing was under 470.00 shipped bb75 :thumbsup:

Hey sounds nice and Jack does give you a good deal I belive. Never bought a complete Kit from Him but he was real nice and helpfull to me on the phone. :front: :RO:

This may sound silly, but can you provide a link to Mr. Garner's site? Or someone else might? I REALLY REALLY REALLY want a long rifle, but I need to be careful with money. It sounds like you are very satisfied with the product you got for your buck.

Well started working on it, got the breech plug in some filing was nessiary ,took some time nice and easy got the mesurements for the tennons ready to be drilled and punched into place tomarrow, then have to file a bevel on the tang, and get readu for the inletting of the stock, now I have to get ready for the real job that pays the bills. bb75
