Hello folks, found this forum looking for info on hand forging locks and furniture for flint long rifles. Not a great smith but want to try. Looking for other info as well. Looking forward to jawing with you.

You are certainly welcome and we look forward to hearing questions and comments. Never a shortage of opinions here! Never been to Virginia but paternal grandmother came to Texas from Culpepper Co. by wagon and I've certainly heard that tale! :haha:

Used to almost be a neighbor, grew up in Fluvanna co. Just up the James from you. Thanks.

Flemish, let me know when you have some parts for sale. I am on the Shenandoah just a few miles upstream from Harpers Ferry. I was at the gun show in Front Royal today looking for a rifle but there where very few contemporary guns for sale....a bunch of antiques though. I did spend some quality time talking to Reeves Goehring and his wonderful daughter. Bought a small hatchet head and a Virginia trigger guard from them.
