Got today GOEX fffg. It's the first time i will shoot with GOEX.In Germany most people shoot with Swiss2.
When i look at the GOEX homepage i see the following chart:
.45 cal-127gr.Roundball-70gr.ffg- slow twist
.45 cal-127gr. Roundball-60gr.ffg- fast twist.
In the forum i read that you must change the load
10-15% lower when you go from ffg to fffg.
I shoot .45 cal-133gr.Roundball- slow twist.
Is the GOEX slower or faster than Swiss2?
:hatsoff:

FWIW, I think the load data posted on the Goex website is extremely, extremely conservative.

I've been using TC's load data for years and their range of powder charges for the .45cal RB goes up to 110grns 2F, or if reduced 15% for 3F, that would be 93.5grns.

I settled on the following loads in my .45cals, both 1:48" and 1:66" barrels:

TARGETS / PLINKING
50grns Goex 3F
.018" lubed pillow ticking
Hornady .440

DEER HUNTING
90grns Goex 3F
Oxyoke Wonderwad
.018" lubed pillow ticking
Hornady .440

No personal knowledge about Swiss, but have seen posts where others have stated Swiss is faster than Goex...others will jump in here about Swiss.

I have been using Goex ever since I started shooting black powder and see no reason to switch (I have great confidence in it). I have tried other brands and some substitutes as test for customer request. Since my shooting is most all flintlock the subs are out real black powder is the only way to go. Between Goex and Swiss I could see no apreciable difference in quality or performance, and would put both at the top of the list.
