Just wanted to show off my new gun. I bought it from a member in the for sale forum. It is a Pedersoli 12 Gauge double barrel, choked full and modified and is unfired. ( I will change that status to "been shot a lot" this weekend.)
I spent the time while we sent money and gun back and forth, making a range rod, a shot horn, a shot measure, over shot cards, and buying up wads and over powder cards etc. I also found a .690 round ball mold and cast quite a few of those along with some .31 caliber buckshot. I will take it squirrel hunting this weekend and trust that it will pattern well without testing the loads. I probably should carry my little 32 caliber rifle, but I can't resist the urge to shoot this gun at some game. Besides, I make a great fired squirrel with gravy and biscuit.
A shooting buddy of mine and I will also shoot a round or two of trap at our club soon. He has an older Navy Arms double he wants to try out on the trap field. I told him that 50 rounds from a front stuffin" shotgun should keep us busy for most of the afternoon.
This will mostly be a small game, bird, and turkey gun but I do like the idea of playing with the round balls and the buckshot. I love having a new muzzleloader to experiment with.
My youngest was twelve or thirteen when he used mine to break his first clay target ever. Good guns, this one isn't going anywhere.
