Same here Jay, I miss the AlamoFilm website very much too because aside from Wayne's Alamo & Brackettville, we all there had our past tied into that film & movie set. It made possible to meet alot good folks ... new friends & Alamodians there. Now that part of us is gone sad to say! :(

Frankly I think its all political in the end. I cannot honestly say. It like so many questions that have arisen about that issue.

I have high hopes for this new western! It looks good so far!

Wow, that looks really good.

Havent seen a good western"without clint the duke or henry fonda" in a while.

I did not like the remake of 310 to yuma..I thought everyone looked too ....clean and soft if you catch my drift

Davy,

Ok got ya. We'll chat more on that come March. The new movie ? Yeah I guess I haven't seen a western to really grab me since Open Range.

watch the trailer and before I scrolled down I was thinking part of the city scenes were from the Alamo set.... so the alamo website is no longer, shame I found this site through that one.

I read the book(same name as the film) last night by Parker. Its a good read with action!

AAHhh rene zel. One of my favorite lines by her,

I despise an onrey chicken....lets get him in the pot.. (to the effect of) haha from cold mountain movie.

Will she give me a new favorite line?

The trailer in the first post looks GREAT!

I haven't read "Appaloosa" but did read "Gunman's Rhapsody". It was one of the better accounts of Wyatt Earp's time in Tombstone. I look forward to reading "Appaloosa" even though Parker's style is a little stark for my taste.

New western film coming out that looks interesting!

Saw "Appaloosa" on the big screen with a very good sound system. Enjoyed the movie. Liked that it was filmed in New Mexico and Texas.

The photography was good, good story, performances, etc. However, "Appaloosa" just did not take me totally into the movie, i.e. transported to that time and place.

Would rate it a solid B. Very well worth seeing on a big screen if you love westerns.

What do you all think of it?

I'm sure it will be great considering what Hollyweird has put out lately. I went to that link and was disappointed though at the desktop image under "downloads" with the pistol....the pistol shown is obviously a prop gun. :shake:

What? They don't use real guns in the movies? :haha:

Sure they do and making a poster for a movie like this they shoulda used a real colt or colt clone not a resin nonfiring prop gun.

Took the wife to see it last friday. I thought it was a good film. There were a couple "I see what's coming" moments in the story line, but a good film none the less. Gun shots sounded realistic. Not giving anything away, but the talk after the gunfight towards then end is pretty funny, my wife even snickered. Both Harris and Mortinson did very well, IMO.

I think it's definately worth seeing in the theater, if you can.

Davy,

The trailers for the movie are out now looks good. I need a good western fix.
