Decided to bring in the new year correctly.
Loaded up my converted smoothie flinter to percussion along with a Pietta 1860 and a modified brasser Remington Army and headed for the range.
Shot the smoothie till my grin was a plastered configuration then switched to the 60 army. After cleaning the oil out i set about snapping caps to clear the nip's. Three outta six fired but three didnt. Forgot i had installed new nipples and had not test fired with caps ... new nipples are short.
Ho hum switched to the old brass Remington with a 5 inch barrel and a penny front sight. Have had this old rascal for years and gotta say it is the smoothest revolver i own. Old stinker just keeps on thumpin along. Shoots great and as always i recieved a busted second knuckle for grins.
Bout 34 degrees out and sunny and a bit chilly but had it to do. Such a blast bringing in the new year with smoke n fire.
Anybody else bring in the new year in such a manner?
