I tried my hand at a "beaver tail" style bag.
Every one I do, teaches me the details of the construction sequence, a little better. Putting things together in a logistical manner, saves time in the long run. Trial and error are the building blocks of success.

Thanks for the nice words. Yes, I wove it on an inkle loom. It's combed cotton yarn. Very soft, but durable.

Thats some nice bag,7,gotta ask what in H---(I'll moderate meself, don't always, did this time, tho)is an inkle loom? cuz that is a nice lookin strap.
just curious tho ,do you wear on left er rite?
You got er dun, some good that is

I really like that one.

What type and weight of leather did you use?

Thanks everyone for the kudos.

An inkle llom is a wooden structure that has pegs and a tension bar. The yarm or warp, is wound around the pegs, with every other strand held lower than the others by "hedles", which are nonstretch loops of cord. One then weaves the "weft" ( weaving yarn ) through the many rows of yarn, alternating on every other row. kind of hard to explain in words, easier shown. Here is a not so great photo of my loom. The other end of the loom has the wooden pegs, that hold the many wraps of yarn.

The leather used is abour 3-4oz cow hide. I got a very good deal on it, and it is a nice brown color. This bag has a good coating of Neatsfoot oil on it, so it is a little darker than usual. It will probably lighten up somewhat, once the oil soaks in and drys.

Very nice bag. What is the button made of? very nice design.

Thank you genteleman,

The button is a pewter button, I picked up at the local craft store. I believe it was made in Germany.
