A Bedford County PA inspired .50 caliber Flintlock. It's finally finished, a month behind schedule, but done. Still a lot of little mistakes, but not near as many as my first attempt at building flintlock rifles. Now, to decide on the next project.

Like he said Looks good from here. Only two thinks catch my eye the transition from the nose cap and the lock panel on the top...And those are being picky...Jealous, and could just be the picture. Congrats on only being a month behind. You got the inlays and patch box in with what looks like a nice finish on the metal parts.

If the purpose of the pic is to just show it, you've succeeded, but if a critique is wanted, many more close up pics are in order.

I'm really interested in the work of other builders, but it's not possible to have a "good look" w/ long range photos.

It's your option and I might have misconstrued the reason for your pic......Fred

From what I can see in the photo, I am impressed. Looks like a pretty darn nice job to me. I know you are rightfully proud of your rifle and you should be.

I agree with the rest about the long range picture. What strikes me and this was already said is the transition before the muzzle cap - looks "bulky" to my eye also - and this might be the angle of the picture - but the forearm in front of the lock and behind the rear ram rod pipe looks "fat" again it maybe just the picture angle :v

Well, it works. Good shooter too. Next trip I'll start filing the front sight. It's about 4 inches low at 50 yds. Had to tweak trigger pull when I got home. So should do even better next time

The gun looks great and nice grouping for first time out. I'm no expert but that lock time look pretty instantaneous to me. Congrats on a nicely built rifle...........Daniel

Yea I was happy with the lock time. Shooting it seemed fast, but when I watched the couple videos the wife took it confirmed what I was thinking and I was impressed.
