You have a point. Everyone shouldn't pick on you just because you're paranoid. graybeard :applause:

Dont know about the rest of the folks here, I am just here for the FUN and maybe to learn something too.
In this diverse PC world we have to walk/talk on eggshells. I say BS!! I say what I want and I can take what others say without offense.
After all this is America and we all have our opinons.
Besides, I hear ALL KINDS OF CRAP just in the course of my workday.
PS I am 1/4 german,1/4 irish,1/4 scottish and 1/4 ??-So I'm gonna SUE EVERYONE ON THE FORUM!!! (nothin personal)

Now that I more or less have the inside skinny, I am amazed that it escalated to such a degree.

Stumpie: "...And Zonie never will forgive ye for confusin his gun-safe trailer for the Porti-John."

Rollingb: "............. and Zonie ought'a "lock" his trailer door!! "

Rollingb: After that incident I think what I need to lock is the door on the Porta-Potty. :: :: ::

I don't doubt that someone got their nose out of joint over something on the other forum.
After over 60 years, I've come to the conclusion that there are people who live their lives with chips on their shoulder, looking for someone to knock it off. It's their way of being important.

That said, no forum is immune from these people, but I cannot think of one legal thing for them to stand on when it comes to a suit about what is said on a site which is open to the public. Yes, they could make it unpleasent for Claude but he would win.
I mean, there are sites who's sole purpose is to attack various religions, races, sexes, politics........ and they are immune to suits (unless they advocate violence or breaking other laws).

We Moderators occasionally do censor things out of posts, but IMO, it's not for fear of legal action aginst the forum. It is usually just to keep the place friendly.
We understand that some things sound ok or funny when they are written, but in hind-sight could be taken the wrong way.
Most of our members recognize this too. IMO, that's why this place works as well as it does.

I can't criticize or argue against the merits of this post.
Perhaps it is good to get these issues out in the open where folks can discuss them.
In the meantime, lets do as the post suggests and try to keep things on a friendly basis.

Now, Rollingb, as for that Porta-Potty, it's a dam good thing that I build LONG guns who's muzzles didn't drop below the toilet seat!! If they had dropped all the way in, Blind or not Blind, you would have been the one to fish them out! :: ::

Zonie,.... Me'thinks you've got me "mixed up" with some other blind "longrifle bandit",.... I'd never do sumpthin like "thet" to purty rifleguns, 'specialy since I warn't within six-hunnert miles of'em!! :shocking: :shake:

I have always had the feeling that , If I DIDN"T learn something new everyday. then the day was a total loss. and that being anything learned not only haveing to do with ML's. :imo: :results:

Woody

PS: ANd YES a lot of what I learn everyday may have come from others from this forum  Thanks.

I've been into the internet and e-mail for over 17 years. I've learned that after the 2nd response via electronic media, it's time to let go.

In the business world, I either let it go or pick up the telephone. It's too easy to do something stupid via electronic media that you will regret later. BTDTGTTS (Been there, done that, got the T-shirt)

What happened was a new member posted a question (2nd post,) and a very knowledgeable senior member gave him a detailed answer. The new member then answered making objection to the senior member's signature line, which the new member deemed to be offensive due to a quarter part of his ethnnic origin. The senior member wrote back that he has the same ethnic origin. Personally, I could not see anything that was offensive about the signature line...This never evolved into a "dog fight." At the present time the senior member has removed the "offensive" signature line so as not to offend anyone or to jeopardize the site. It will be interesting to see if the new member is gentleman enough to extend the hand of friendship, or will show himself up to be a flamer.

Hmmm...I have been a regular on that site for a couple of years and cannot recall any signature that would be offensive......I missed the brawl, was out of town....sounds like a flamer to me, but if I am wrong I apologize to him in advance! :haha: :peace: :sorry:

Hey Lucky what was the signature inquiring minds want to know!

Well Chuck, It was "I am not a bad dancer, I'm just overly caucasion." No harm, No foul IMHO

You know gentlemen, I don't appreciate seeing all this...I personally don't think this line of joking is all that appropriate for the majority of us to have to see.

I'm not trying to be the morality police...do and think as you will...but as a member, I don't appreciate it on this board and think it would be best if it could take place via PM's or Emails so it's not visible.

And don't suggest that "I shouldn't read it if it bothers me" because the way it works is that when I check a thread and see that a new post has been added, I take a look to see what good new information I might learn...then too late I see yet another borderline ethnic comment.

Beginning to wonder how this theme is all that much different from the one that's been referenced as having occured on another board somewhere.

Sorry, but that's the facts...

Roundball,.... I appologize if you took offence to my "joke'n", I can assure you thet "ethnics" never entered my mind when I replied to Huntinfool. :m2c:

In fact, I never think about "ethnics"!!
